I really hope the world doesn't end in 2012 as I've been bustin' my hump ALL DAY creating a perpetual calendar for the garden. I feel like I'm back in school. Since sun up I've had my nose in a stack books (and on-line) pulling information and consolidating it into one excel spread sheet. It will be glorious and simplify my life considerably when it's all done but right now what a PITA to create. Still it's a good brush up on what will need to be done this year. I'm about 1/2 way through the herbs and 1/3 of the way though the fruits and veggies. It feels quite extensive however I know I'm missing things even as I go through them. I guess it'll just have to be a work in progress.
I also discovered that I need to prune my blueberry bushes this year. Zoinks, that makes me nervous!

Just get a frisbee catching dog, and it will prune your blueberry bushes for ya. Jude does it for me every year. Hehe.
I have tons of pruning to do next month, but it isn't too bad.
Maybe I can just borrow Jude? lol
My poor DH is deathly allergic to all things cute and fluffy, otherwise I'd get right on acquiring a blueberry prunin' pooch.
I spent a LOT of time recording planting dates for everything into my MSWorks calendar. I mean for the entire 2010 year for succession plantings for everything I'm growing. That will give me a pop-up reminder every time it's time to plant something! I wonder how well I can keep up with it ;-)
Granny, you're always so smart when it comes to the garden! I've been really scatter shot about keeping my info in one place. I had some of it in my iCal but then I couldn't see everything at a glance. (Though the pop up reminders were awesome!) I also have a written note book that's just tons of dirt crusted chicken scratch from me taking notes while in the garden! lol
I'm hoping that consolidating my info in excel it'll be easier to not only see what I need to do now, but also what's coming up next week. I'll still keep the note book too cause it's mighty helpful...
Oh, these are GOOD ideas. I haven't been keeping up with my planting plans and it's going to show.
Now that I'm feeling confident about what will grow where around the yard, my goal is to create a planner like you. Any advice, or anything to share? ;-)
Stefaneener: I was so good at the beginning of last year then things sort of tapered off. My spring garden looked fab, summer was good and fall was so half-assed. lol I hoping for more consistency this year too. =)
Momma_S: When I get it all done I'll try to take a snap shot of it so I can share here... It might give you some ideas on how I organize my garden.
