From dry weather to too much rain and coolness. I hope next year is better for us both.

Randy - I'd be glad to balance out our weather... if only a trade were possible!

Ribbit - You are too kind. There were few that were decent size but most of them were good as broiler onions! Not enough sunshine here unlike sunny Florida!

Liisa - Poll beans were generous despite the unusual weather... glad to hear that you had a good harvest. +)

Thyme - It was pretty cloudy this year which makes me think that we didn't get enough sunshine to reach full onion potential this year... onions are generally dependent on hours of daylight for optimal growth.Just Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15008462659487802315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3268559567958002671.post-1055646399298095292010-09-06T21:06:02.825-07:002010-09-06T21:06:02.825-07:00Your onions look great, and still much bigger than...Your onions look great, and still much bigger than most of the onions I harvested this year. I've read a lot of garden bloggers complaining about onions not sizing up properly this year. As a first year gardener, I have no idea why, but if it's affecting so many gardeners, maybe there was some sort of an area-wide problem in the US? Hmm.thyme2gardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06512569281844698265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3268559567958002671.post-69928769357545938602010-09-06T19:23:41.173-07:002010-09-06T19:23:41.173-07:00You are not alone when it come to a pathetic garde...You are not alone when it come to a pathetic garden this year which you can see from my posts and lack of posts. Your onions look great. I also had a good year for onions this year... that and pole beans. Well there is always next summer. We have had a lot of above average temps this year, it doesn't make for good gardening either! Another year is coming upon us for a whole new start to our gardens!Shawn Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16242486533549946479noreply@blogger.com
