I first noticed it in seeds I saved last year. They drill a hole in the pea pod and lay their eggs in individual peas. They are back this year. I garden organically so do not want to use inseticides but an organic option would be possible. So far they have not bothered my crop really but I am afraid if untreated they may infect other plants or weaken the per plants any idea what they are and what I should or should not do for them?? I used to live in Portland so they remind me of home :) Mine are happily 2 feet tall and produced some yummy peas. I am hoping they will be able to withstand the hot California sun...Concrete Junglehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02795186830681216776noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3268559567958002671.post-37978369237246514592009-03-15T17:38:00.000-07:002009-03-15T17:38:00.000-07:00Randy,Oh no! You could try <A HREF="http://www.territorialseed.com/product/1011/s" REL="nofollow">Alderman's Peas (aka Telephone Peas)"</A> which are climbers. That was my main plan for the pea area but I just happened to notice a little sample pack of the Sugar's sitting around. I only planted a foot or two with them since DH's allergic I'll be the only one eating them away. =) I hope we can compare notes as the season progresses. I'd like to see how your peas turn out.Just Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15008462659487802315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3268559567958002671.post-51168590326502344232009-03-15T16:24:00.000-07:002009-03-15T16:24:00.000-07:00Jenn,I just set down a half pound package of these...Jenn,<BR/><BR/>I just set down a half pound package of these that is empty.
